This document defines the performance requirements of onboard systems for axlebox condition monitoring where such systems are required, for example to satisfy Technical specifications for Interoperability (TSI). It sets out methods of achieving compliance with the TSI-requirements. This document is intended for use in all cases of train types and speeds. The current version covers only the method of onboard temperature detection. Other devices which apply functionally equivalent alternatives, are not appropriate at the present stage but such technologies may be normalized when suitably developed and available
