INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE

The format guidelines contained in this document are intended for use ONLY by API Committees in the conversion of all API bulletins, recommended practices, standards, etc. to the Metric (SI) System.

The purpose of this document is to encourage conformity in all API publications being converted to the Metric (SI) System by offering editorial and format suggestions. During conversion, this document should be used to editorially supplement API Publication 2563 (Chapter 15-Section 1) Metric Practice Guide-A Guide to the Use of S!-The International System of Units and API Publication 2564 (Chapter 15-Section 2) Conversion of Operational and Process Measurement Units to the Metric (SI) System.

This document uses the standard format of the ISO Guide for the Presentation of International Standards and Technical Reports. All Non-Divisional publications will follow this outline.
