The recommended provided herein apply to the transportation on single cars of API 5L and 5LX steel line pipe 24 in. OD to 42 in. OD, incl., and in thicknesses from ¼ in. to ¾ in., incl. These recommendations must be considered as supplementary to existing regulations for rail shipments. AAR loading practices shall be checked; and if any recommendations are in conflict with AAR loading practices, those of AAR shall govern.
