Purpose

The object of this test procedure is the determination of the force required to separate, by stripping, two plies of fabric bonded with an elastomer, or an elastomeric layer and a fabric ply bonded with an elastomer. The procedure is applicable in instances where the ply surfaces are approximately plane, or cylindrical as in hoses. For components which contain sharp bends, angles, or other irregularities, specific procedures should be employed.
