The recommendations herein have been prepared as a guide for handling and using subsurface pumps. Section 2 covers briefly the general characteristics of the pump types standardized in API Std 11AX; Section 3 recommends inspection of pumps for compliance with API standards and assurance of good operating conditions; Section 4 discusses certain precautions that should be observed in transporting and handling; Section 5 covers operation; and Section 6 recommends proper procedures for assembly and disassembly of pumps.
