This Part of the NES covers the general requirements for the design, manufacturer, installation and testing of equipment fitted in Surface Ships for the disposal of garbage.
The NES does not cover requirements for the incinerators that are specified in NES 346, nor the requirements of the equipment installed for the destruction of CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS that are included in NES 371.
