This specification covers steel sheet, for culverts and underdrains, which is zinc coated (galvanized) on continuous lines by the hot-dip process. The material is furnished flat, in coils and cut lengths, and corrugated in cut lengths. The standard corrugalions in cut lengths are 2-2/3 in.(68mm) pitch X1/2 in.(12.7mm) depth and 3 in.(76mm) pitch X 1 in. (25..4mm) depth. Galvanized sheet for culvert and underdrains is produced in one coating weight only, designated 2.00oz./ft.2 (610 g/m2) in the culvert industry according to the requirements shown in Table 3. The coating is always expressed as the total coating of both surfaces. The material is supplied in copper steel and copper bearing pure iron (Note 1).
Note 1- The values stated in U.S. customary units are to be regarded at the standard. The metric equipments of U.S. customary units given in the standard may be approximate.
Steel sheets or coils supplied under this specification shall meet the applicable requirements of the latest revision of ASTM A 525 unless otherwise specified herein.
