This specification covers Material, Part, and Assembly Performance Requirements for eight types of material. Quality, Source Approval and Quality Control, Shipping and Identification, Designation on Drawings, Approved Materials and Engineering Design Guidance are included.

Restricted Chemical Substances

Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification.

APPLICATION

This specification covers plastic parts and components used in engine air intake systems. Materials shown are approved for use in filtered and unfiltered air systems. Materials Engineering should be consulted prior to the selection of a material for any application.
