Material Description. This specification covers the performance requirements for all types of labels unless otherwise specified in the individual specifications.

Material Identification. The basic specification number (GM6121M) designates general requirements and a system f suffix letters (A, B, C, D, F, G),which designate additional requirements.

Note: Each suffix is used separately or with one or more others to designate when or more of the characteristics listed are required. Examples:

GM612M (A)

GM612M (AF),

GM612M (BCZ), and

GM612M ((B, Z1, Z2, Z3)

Other characteristics shall be specified by purchaser. (Note: Suffix Z appended to specification number indicates the existence of requirements other than those designed by symbols explained in the tabulation above. These are normally shown in the body of engineering drawings).
