The method provides a procedure to reduce or minimize the loss of inorganic preservatives from the corresponding treated wood at the treating plant.

In its present form, the method has been developed for ACC, CCA, ACQ (Types A, B, C, and D), ACZA, CBA-A, CA (Types B and C), and CX-A treated Southern pine, Hem-fir and Douglas-fir but can be adapted to other inorganic preservative systems and wood species.
