The method provides a laboratory procedure to determine the time required for the fixation of reactive inorganic waterborne preservatives at given temperature(s). The method is primarily intended for preservatives that do not require drying as part of the fixation process. If drying is involved in the fixation process, additional trials may be necessary to determine the effect of drying rate on fixation.
