The scope of this STANAG is limited to the use of RFID capabilities to support consignment and asset tracking and applies to NATO Operations. Nations (including NATO Agencies) are encouraged to utilize the provisions of this STANAG internally. This STANAG excludes radio frequency data communications and the application of RF tracking using satellite tracking capabilities and Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS). This STANAG is in addition to the requirements of STANAGs 2494 and 4281.
