This standard specifies the dynamometer test procedure for the measurement of wear of brake linings and pads to be used in the service brakes of automobiles1).
Note:1)
Special motor vehicles and motorcycles are excluded from the scope of this standard. Trailers with a nominal gross coupled weight (GCW) exceeding 40 tons are also excluded from the scope of this standard.
