scope:
This Standard specifies the classification and acceptance criteria by ultrasonic test on rolled steel plates of thickness 13 mm or over up to and including 200 mm, and wide flats of thickness 13 mm or over up to and including 200 mm and width 180 mm and over which are used for main structural member parts of steel structures being subjected to remarkable strong stress in through thickness direction.
NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:
ISO 17577 : 2006 Steel - Ultrasonic testing for steel flat products of thickness equal to or greater than 6 mm (MOD)
The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
