scope:
This proposed standard includes requirements for materials intended for lightening or whitening the colour of natural teeth by means of chemical interaction with colour pigments within enamel and dentine. It does not cover materials intended to modify the colour of natural teeth by mechanical methods (e.g. stain removal) or using restorative approaches, such as veneers and crowns.
