PURPOSE AND AUDIENCE

This handbook provides information about and insight into energy management strategies that can be used by water utilities to reduce operational costs, increase operational efficiencies, and develop more sustainable infrastructure. It is primarily for use by utility managers but also contains pertinent information for operators and other day-to-day personnel responsible for maintenance, engineering, and the performance of water treatment and distribution systems. In addition, the material provided herein may be useful to consulting engineers and others who are interested in design, operation, and sustainability of water systems.

This handbook is specifically targeted at drinking water utilities; however, it contains information that may also be useful for wastewater utilities.
