INTRODUCTION

In determining the merits of a secondary recovery operation, the fraction of the reservoir which is ultimately to be swept by the injected fluid is of major importance. The conformance correlations presented in this paper take into account the effects of areal sweep efficiency as manifested in mobility ratio and vertical sweep efficiency as described by permeability variation, for a 5-spot and line d5ive patterns. In effect, the assumptions and methods as proposed by Stiles(l) and Dykstra-Parsons(2) are merged with the areal sweep data of Dyes and Caudle.(3) Conformance is defined as fraction of total volume swept by water.

In addition, correlations are presented to estimate change in injection rate as a function of sweep efficiency for a non-depleted system.
