Scope and Applicability.

This instruction is applicable to designated naval aviators, naval flight officers (NFOs), and aerospace engineering duty officers (AEDOs) through the grade of lieutenant commander.

Purpose

a. To publish information concerning courses of instruction offered at the United States Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS), United States Air Force Test Pilot School (USAFTPS), British Empire Test Pilots' School (ETPS), and French Test Pilot School (EPNER).

b. Major revisions include an update to test pilot schools (TPS) board convening months, a requirement to separate military and civilian flight hours in the application, and a requirement to have a commanding officer (CO) endorsement from a gaining command if a transfer is going to take place between the application and board convening date. This instruction is a complete revision and should be read in its entirety.
