Purpose.

This standard describes an accelerated corrosion test. This test is designed for corrosion replication especially where galvanic corrosion mechanisms are present.

Applicability.

This procedure is applicable to passenger car and truck, SUV and Crossover, and commercial vehicle components or assemblies.

Remarks.

This is a cyclic environmental test which exposes test samples to periodic wetting with a salt/mud solution followed by drying all at an elevated temperature.
