scope:

This specification covers drafting machines and includes scales used to transfer a straight line at any angle, from any part of a drawing or chart, so that it will remain parallel to its original direction.

The drafting machines shall be of the following types, classes and styles as specified (see 6.2.1).

Type I - Plotting

Class 1 - Large plotting

Class 2 - Small plotting

Type II - Drafting

Class 1 - General drafting

Class 2 - Civil engineer

Class 3 - Detailers

Style A - Band drive

Style B - Rigid bar
