This Standard describes requirements and test methods for materials, dimensions, quality of work, pipe stiffness, quality control, joining systems, and marking for SDR 28, 35, and 41 Type PSM PVC sewer pipe and fittings.

Note: Industrial waste disposal lines should be installed only with specific approval of the regulatory authority, since chemicals not commonly found in drains and sewers and temperatures in excess of 60°C (140°F) may be encountered.

The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parenthesis are for information only.

Note: Nominal pipe size is indicated by an NPS designation, and actual dimensions are given in millimetres. For example a pipe of NPS-10 size will be nominally 10 inches in diameter.
