scope:
This Standard specifies requirements for screw threads used for cycles specified in JIS D 9111 It is not applicable to screw threads used for spokes and nipples.
NOTE The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 6696: 1989 Cycles-Screw threads used in bottom bracket assemblies
ISO 6698: 1989 Cycles-Screw threads used to assemble freewheels on bicycle hubs
ISO 8488: 1986 Cycles-Screw threads used to assemble head fittings on bicycle forks (overall evaluation: MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
