This specification covers the requirements for a counterdrum-pointer,
Two types of altimeters are covered by this specification and differ only in respect to variation in color of the integral white lighting as follows:
I. Type AAU-31/A-1 Altimeter (interchangeable with AAU-31/A) - Incorporates "aviation red" lighting and "blue filtered" white lighting.
II. Type AAU-31/A-2 Altimeter (interchangeable with AAU-31A/A) - Incorporates "aviation red" lighting and "instrument and panel" white lighting.
