This Standard defines modifications to cdma2000® LAES solutions published in existing standards (e.g., J-STD- 025-B [Ref 11] and TIA-1066 [Ref 10]) to address the introduction of femtocells into the cdma2000® network architecture and specifies the LAES service interactions for new features (e.g., Local IP Access (LIPA)) introduced in TIA-1165-A [Ref 1-3] that are not fully addressed by those existing standards. LAES for scenarios where the intercept subject is a specific FAP is for future study (FFS).

The handoff details for a MS on a macrocell to a FAP and a handoff of a MS on a FAP to the macrocell are not covered in this document.

Purpose

The purpose of this Standard is to facilitate a Telecommunication Service Provider's (TSP's) assistance to LE. This Standard defines a method to support LAES for cdma2000® Wireless Communication Systems that include Femtocells.
