This standard identifies minimum job performance requirements (JPRs) for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, and Live Fire Instructor in Charge.
Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to provide minimum JPRs for service as a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, and Live Fire Instructor in Charge.
This standard shall define Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, and Live Fire Instructor in Charge.
The intent of this standard shall be to ensure that personnel serving as a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, and Live Fire Instructor in Charge are qualified.
This standard shall not address organization or management responsibility.
It is not the intent of this standard to restrict any jurisdiction from exceeding or combining these minimum requirements.
JPRs for each level and position are the tasks personnel should be able to perform to carry out the job duties.
A Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, and Live Fire Instructor in Charge shall remain current with the general knowledge and skills and JPRs addressed in the level of qualification.
