This standard contains the minimum design, construction, and maintenance requirements for fire service training centers, fire training structures and props, gas-fueled and flammable liquid-fueled live fire training systems, mobile fire training props, and associated training props.
Purpose.
The purpose of this standard is to establish consistent, minimum criteria for facilities, structures, and props that are used for conducting fire and rescue training classes and exercises.
The building code(s) and gas code(s) do not address the unique and specific requirements for specialized fire training structures, props, and systems. The minimum requirements of this standard are intended to bridge that gap.
