The wiper roll in flexographic printing is a critical component in the press for achieving quality print. This guide reviews four characteristics that are important properties to consider for wiper roll covers. They are: 1) the type of elastomers compound for the roll cover; 2) the hardness or durometer of the roll cover; 3) the concentricity and precision grind of the surface; and (4) the crown of the roll surface.
