For the purpose of this Standard, tests are considered to be procedures conducted in order to establish the safety and suitability for service of small arms, ordnance and ordnance installations.
The Standard also considers Design Authority responsibilities, preliminary inspection and safety review requirements, information sought from user small arms trials, hazard severity and probability criteria, general instructions for trials, safety related software and associated computer systems.
The Standard considers that Tests are developed by the Design Authority, but approved by the Customer as appropriate for establishing the safety and suitability for service of the item under test. Approval is to consider both the scope and depth of testing, including the number of articles tested and number of tests completed.
Test Procedures
