This instruction provides the guidance for managing Air Force Training Systems. It outlines the requirement to develop, acquire, modify, test, validate, and support training systems, to include but not limited to Aircrew Mission Training Systems, Mission Crew (i.e. Command and Control (C2)) Training Systems, Maintenance Training Systems, Space Training Systems, other Training Systems and Training Services. This AFI must be used in conjunction with AFI 10-601, Capabilities-Based Requirements Development, and AFI 99-103, Capabilities-Based Test and Evaluation, and AFI 63-101, Operations of Capabilities Based Acquisition System to provide an integrated framework for the implementation of a training system.
