The material defined by this specification is a lubricating grease, mineral oil based and containing metallic and siliceous fillers, plus a bentone clay thickener. This specification is technically identical to and replaces specification ESEA-MlC1014-A. Lubricants approved to the latter specification will be regarded as having met the requirements of SA-M1C9107-A. 2 . APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for anti-squeal shims which are fitted between disc brake caliper pistons and brake pad backing plates. The material may also be used to provide lubrication and prevent seizure of surfaces exposed to high temperatures or corrosive conditions e. g. turbo charger housings, or drum brake s tats. 3 .
