Purpose

The purpose of this specification is to define the general architectural philosophy and specific design guidance for a wireless cabin distribution system that can be used in a standalone configuration or as a part of a larger In-Flight Entertainment System (IFES). This system will provide wireless network connectivity to passenger owned devices, crew devices and embedded devices installed in the airplane.

The wireless cabin distribution system should be designed to support any specific airplane configuration and be scaleable for use on all commercial aircraft types.
