This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

The requirements for acquiring the product described herein shall consist of this specification sheet and the issue of MIL-DTL-11484 listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicitation.

MATERIAL: Gilding Medal DIMENSIONS: HEIGHT (Overall): ¾ inch (1.91 cm) (REF) WIDTH (Overall): 7/16 inch (1.11 cm) (REF) THICKNESS (On Flat of Star): 0.085 inch ± 0.005 inch (0.216 cm ± 0.012 cm) FINISH: Hard Enameled, Gold Plated, Rose Gold Plated, Relieved, Matte Finish

NOTES:

1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished hub or die.

2. Enameled areas shall be as.indicated. The colors shall conform to the TIOH color chip numbers listed below or-the standard sample.

COLOR CHIP NO. Green 11 Blue 20 Gray 34

3. Epoxy resin (stoning epoxy) may be used in lieu of hard enamel at the option of the manufacturer.

4. Piercing shall be as indicated.

5. The diamond shall be 0.02 carat and shall be set in a 3 or 4 bead setting.

6. Attaching device shall be prong with pick and flat ball type clutch. The prong shall be centered on the reverse side and fused or soldered to the lapel button.

7. The entire lapel button shall be lacquered.

CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS ISSUE: Marginal notations are not used in this revision to identify changes with respect to the previous issue due to the extent of the changes.
