Organization: DS
Status: active
Page Count: 25
ICS Code (Railway rolling stock in general): 45.060.01
scope:

This international standard specifies a calculation method for the recyclability and the recoverability rate of rolling stock. The calculation method introduced by this standard considers the different end-oflife paths such as reuse, recycle and recovery and relies on its efficiency of the path. It means that the method is developed in order to take into account the efficiencies of recycling and recovery technologies with regard to each material at the different end-of-life treatment stage. The recyclability and recoverability rate of rolling stock are each expressed as a percentage by mass (mass fraction in percent) after applying efficiency factors of each material for the rolling stock, which can potentially be - recycled, reused or both (recyclability rate), or - recovered, reused or both (recoverability rate). The method defined in this standard applies to new rolling stock. However, it may be applied to other rolling stock depending on available information. This method may also be applied for any individual parts and/or products used in the rolling stock unless there is a specific standard or method associated with these parts and/or products
