The IRP Methodology - A process-based method for project management as a corporate business competence - The Project Process

active, Most Current
Organization: DS
Publication Date: 20 November 2003
Status: active
ICS Code (Research and development): 03.100.40
scope:

This publication describes the Project Process, which is one of the four processes of the IRP Method. The IRP Method is a process-based method for project management as a corporate business competence. Unlike traditional approaches to project management, the IRP Method focuses on the company rather than the individual project manager. Furthermore, the method emphasizes the processes before and after the actual project that are often ignored. The IRP Method is a general method that is not limited to a specific type of projects or a certain line of business. The method is adapted to the individual needs of each company/organisation. Also, the method is used by the Danish Standards Association for the certification of project management at company level. The Project Process is preceded by a Sales Process or a Analysing Process both of which aim to provide a sufficient basis for initiating the Project Process. The Project Process focuses on delivering the specified solution within the specific limits as to time, budget, and quality. This publication gives a general introduction to the IRP Method, a description of the typical project organisation in the Project Process as well as a thorough description of possible activities in each of the four phases that the Project Process consists of. Also included is an overview of possible templates as well as examples of templates and a glossary. This publication is part of a series of 5 publications.
