Sprinklers may be installed in wet and dry sprinkling systems.Pendant sprinklers are intended to be installed so that the deflector is located below the frame and operating components and the water leaving the orifice is directed downwards against the deflector plate. An upright sprinkler is intended to be installed so that the deflector is located above the frame and operating components and the water leaving the orifice is directed upwards against the deflector plate. Sprinklers should be installed with the frames in line with sprinkler pipe. for installation purposes, type I and type II sprinklers are interchangeable.
