This Standard applies to stationary electric storage tank water heaters having a capacity of 175 and 270 L and intended for use on pressure systems in residential premises and similar locations. For convenience, the shorter term 'water heater' is used herein.
This Standard specifies rated tank capacities, heater element ratings, construction, durability, and marking.
This Standard specifies energy efficiency of water heaters in terms of standby loss and the method of measurement. Also specified are water delivery and the method of measurement.
This Standard includes dual dimensions. The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
