INTRODUCTION
This directory lists all the verified energy efficiency products and services that were CSA certified as of February 1996. It replaces all earlier editions of the directory. Please note that, because a product's certification status can change at any time, the listings in this directory may not be current when you read them.
FINDING INFORMATION
The products and services in this directory are organized into broad classifications that are arranged alphabetically. Within each classification, the individual listings appear in alphabetical order, by company name. Each classification begins with a description of the type of products or services covered, and the standards and other requirements used for certification. Applicable marking information and other details are also included. The following indexes can help you find the information you need:
♦ The company index lists all the companies included in this directory, in alphabetical order by company name.
♦ The file number index lists all the companies by their CSA customer file number. This file number may appear on certified products preceded by 'EEV".
♦ The classification index lists all the product classifications in this directory, and their corresponding class number.
ABOUT CSA STANDARDS
CSA is Canada's largest standards-writing, testing, and certification organization. More than 7000 volunteer members from across Canada serve on the committees that write, review, and revise the standards published by CSA. Committee members include representatives from federal, provincial, and municipal governments; from research organizations, labour unions, and consumer groups; and from manufacturers, consultants, professional associations, and trade organizations.
Today there are over 1300 CSA standards, reflecting a national consensus of producers, users, and regulator)' authorities. CSA standards cover nearly 35 major areas, such as structural design, building materials, the Canadian Electrical Code, computers, office machines, environmental protection, health care, fire safety, and sports and recreational equipment.
Most CSA standards provide detailed procedures for testing and inspection, to certify that a product or service conforms to the standard.
Most of the published CSA Standards provide detailed procedures for testing and inspection to verify conformance to the applicable Standards.
Approximately one-third of CSA's Standards have been incorporated by reference into provincial or federal government regulation, so that in these cases, compliance with the CSA Standard has been made mandatory.
Manufacturers and suppliers have their products or services verified as conforming to CSA Standards to meet a variety of energy efficiency regulations.
CSA verification benefits everyone by helping ensure the energy efficiency of products in the marketplace.
