Form
This specification covers a fluorocarbon (FKM) rubber in the form of O-rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets.
Application
These products have been used typically as sealing rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets in contact with air and a wide variety of fuels, lubricants, and specific hydraulic fluids from -20 to +400 °F (-29 to +204 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications. Each application should be considered individually. This class of fluoroelastomers may not be suitable for use in some high temperature stabilized, "HTS", engine oils. Each "HTS" oil should be evaluated separately. Examples of "HTS" oils are those oils conforming to MIL-PRF-23699 Class HTS, MILPRF- 7808 Grade 4, and AS5780 Class HPC.
Safety - Hazardous Materials
While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved.
