This Defence Standard (Def Stan) specifies requirements for the thermal, fire barrier and acoustic insulation of the structure and where appropriate, the systems, ventilation trunking and machinery of HM Ships and Submarines.
This Def Stan does not apply to refrigerated spaces (see Def Stan 02-111).
