This Guidance Note applies to all new and replacement pest control systems installed within the station, depot or ancillary building environment and includes buildings, structures, other operational land and disused buildings, where London Underground or its suppliers and/or partners are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the same.
This guidance gives advice on the legal position regarding pests and protected species control and the types and use of certain deterrents.
This Guidance Document does not apply to the Track environment, which is covered by LU cat 2 Track Standard E8457 -The control and management of pests on or about the track.
Purpose
The purpose of this Guidance Document is to assist designers, specifiers and maintainers in their selection of the most appropriate type of deterrent for pests encountered in station, depot and other ancillary buildings. It is not to be read as the sole solution for pest control as each instance will dictate its own solution and the appropriate advice should be sought from a professional body. This Guidance supersedes CED-ST-2207 A2 which is withdrawn.
