Purpose

The purpose of this Guidance is to support the delivery of project or maintenance works on assets required to comply with Cat 1 standard 1-134 Premises - Doorsets and Glazing

This Guidance Scope

This Guidance applies to the design, installation and performance of doorsets and gates appropriate for use within LU station and premises; to achieve safe and aesthetically pleasing; balancing cost, durability and cleanability, maintainability and ease of replacement.

This guide is also applicable to buildings other than stations e.g. depots, staff accommodation buildings, control centres and remote equipment rooms etc.

This standard does not apply to the UTS barriers and gates including manual and equipment gates.

For the purpose of this guidance, doors include:

a) external doors;

b) internal doors;

c) industrial doors, including collapsible gates and shutters;

d) commercial doors;

e) fire doors;

f) high security doors;

g) gates;

h) hatches;

i) submarine type doors.
