scope:

This Standard applies to mobile medical facilities containing patient treatment areas and used for medical purposes.

Two groups of installations are covered by this Standard:

Group 1: Mobile medical facilities in which the loss of power in normal operation would not cause increased risk to life e.g. dental practice, dialysis, x-ray, breast screening.

Group 2: Mobile medical facilities in which the loss of power in normal operation may cause increased risk to life e.g. mobile day surgery.

Designers should verify from the appropriate medical personnel the power continuity requirements for each mobile medical facility and the proposed area of mobile medical unit operation prior to the commencement of design and/or construction.
