scope:
This standard applies to the planning and execution of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (hereinafter referred to as HVAC systems) for industrial laboratories and laboratories in universities and institutes. It also applies to HVAC systems in science classrooms in schools if these are equipped with such a system.
This standard does not stipulate, however, when laboratories or science classrooms in schools are to be equipped with a HVAC system; for this purpose superordinate rules and regulations apply that shall be taken into account. This standard only specifies the tasks of and requirements for HVAC systems.
This standard not only applies to laboratories in a narrower sense, but also to laboratory-related rooms in which work with hazardous substances is performed.
