When procuring the elevators at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) to be installed at the Operations Support Building (OSB) I, proprietary elevators were acquired when they were not needed, because proprietary elevators are more expensive to install and maintain the elevator acquisitions should have been nonproprietary. When a buying a product the requirements for the product should be reviewed.
