scope:
This specification covers the Platoon Early Warning System (PEWS) AN/TRS-2( ) which is used to provide early warning of approaching personnel and vehicles to platoon and outpost size units. (See 6.6) The PEWS consists of the following:
a. Ten (10) each Detector, Anti-Intrusion DT-577( )/TRS-2. (This is a Seismic/Magnetic type sensor.)
b. Two (2) each Monitor Receiver, Radio R-1808( )/TRS-2. (This is the receiver/display unit.)
c. Two (2) each Sensor Interface Wire Link MX-9738( )/TRS. (This unit is the Wire Adapter Module used with the receiver when field wire is employed instead of RF, for one or more of the sensors.)
d. Two (2) each Case, Platoon Early Warning System CY-7524 ( )/TRS-2. (This is the carrying bag for the PEWS.)
e. Two (2) each Stake, Grounding, for Receiver.
