PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This method assesses the resistance of textile fabrics to burning when a flame is applied to the lower edge. Because the procedure creates conditions favorable to combustion, the test is a severe one relative to some others in the CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 27 series.

The testing and evaluation of a product against this method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this method has the responsibility to conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
