INTRODUCTION
This Standard outlines the requirements for Product Engineering and Manufacturing activities when they or their suppliers make revisions to drawings or CAD files, as outlined in Standard A-1, which have been produced for Ford Motor Company.
This Standard defines the types of revisions and the methods by which revisions will be executed. It references procedures, etc., used for the appropriate application of all types of revisions.
Drawings are revised to improve design, to achieve better fabrication, to add more information, to clarify the drawing or to correct errors. The drawing must indicate how each individual part, assembly or installation is revised. Revisions will be recorded in English.
The CAD file for drawings that are in possession of the Ford Motor Company activity are considered the master per CAD the Master (CtM) and as such are the only files that are to be used for creating revisions. When a drawing needs to be revised, it is the responsibility of the requisitioning activity to request a copy of the master file from the proper Ford Motor Company activity.
NOTE: Only the abbreviations as explained in Standard C-3 can be used.
