This standard shall specify the test method which determines, by means of calipers or special compression type gauges, the thickness of trim materials such as textiles, plastic films, leather cloths, fiberboard, carpet, felt, flexible cellular materials etc.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this standard is to control the quality of the trim materials used in automotives to a uniform thickness.
