This Defence Standard states material, manufacturing and procedural requirements for the use of automatic stud welding in the construction of fighting vehicles manufactured from ferrous armour or aluminium alloy armour. During the construction of Steel Armoured Fighting Vehicles (FV's), all automatic stud welding operations shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements herein specified
