scope:

This standard establishes safety requirements for the construction, operation, maintenance and use of scaffolds used in the construction, alteration, demolition and maintenance of buildings and structures. It does not cover permanently installed suspended scaffold systems or aerial platforms. This standard is designed to provide reasonable safety for life and limb of those engaged in occupations requiring the use of scaffolding. The comparison document attempts to note the changes in the A10.8 standard.
